Pigments
organiques
Certains ont
été utilisés depuis toujours. Ils sont d’origine naturelle,
extraits de plantes (garance, indigo), de coquillages
(pourpre), de Chenilles (cochenille), mais leur synthèse n'a
été réalisée qu'au XlXe siècle.
Cependant, la majorité des pigments
utilisés de nos jours ont été découverts au XIXe siècle.
Ils sont
dérivés des goudrons de houille, le benzène, le naphtalène et
l'anthracène étant les matières premières indispensables à leur
fabrication.
Utilisés pour
leurs pouvoirs colorants et opacifiants dans la préparation des
peintures et enduits...
